Aylin Lyorah
...From calculation to preparation, this mathematician does it all while keeping her footnotes tidy.

Biography

Born in the coastal hills of Upper La Noscea, Aylin grew up surrounded by ledgers and tall tales. Her father, a trader of curious goods, filled her childhood with stories of distant lands, while her mother, a sharp-witted accountant, instilled in her a love for numbers and organization. This balance of whimsy and precision shaped Aylin into a meticulous yet bubbly adventurer.
At sixteen, she struck out on her own, applying her knack for planning and logistics to adventuring parties and caravans. Two years later, while assisting near the ruins of the floating city of Nym, she discovered a tainted scholar job stone housing Nythera, a tempestuous faerie warped by Mhachi magic. Though Nythera’s cryptic whispers of voidsent sparked Aylin’s quest to track and destroy these ancient threats, the faerie’s penchant for whimsical disruption has been a constant challenge. Nythera’s misguided attempts to be “likeable” often lead to mischief—such as dismantling an entire party’s weapons to craft a fantastical diorama, a gesture that ended with more groans than gratitude.Aylin’s journey is defined by her duality. She’s a detail-oriented scholar with a talent for planning but also a playful, excitable spirit who sees joy in even the smallest victories. Balancing her meticulous side with her love of fun is no small task, but Aylin takes it on with the same enthusiasm she brings to every challenge. Armed with her maps, equations, and Nythera’s tempestuous company, she’s determined to leave the world a safer—and perhaps slightly more organized—place.

Likes
• Sweet desserts
• Organized shelves (“It’s not obsessive; it’s efficient.”).
• The sound of rain, particularly when she’s indoors with a cup of tea, a fresh quill and a stack of blank paper.
• Freshly sharpened quills (“A dull quill is worse than a dull sword.”).
• Breaking ciphers and solving puzzles
• Nymian ruins, especially ones that haven’t collapsed on her or contain predatory water snakes.
• Anything that reminds her of Gustavain Monstrueux including but not limited to: Ishgard, Sharlayan, Elezens, the color white or silver, magic, breathing, etc.Dislikes
• Disorganized plans—but don't worry, she’ll fix them.
• Lukewarm tea (“You had one job, kettle. ONE JOB.”).
• Sand in her boots—it’s her mortal enemy, second only to voidsent.
• Overly spicy food (“My tongue is not a battleground.”).
• Swimming, Wading or anything involving large, deep, dark bodies of water. She's ok in a boat, but don't suggest that there's something in the water...
• Nythera’s “helpful” suggestions, like reassembling party gear into avant-garde sculptures.
• People ignoring her statistical analysis—if she calculated it, it’s probably for a reason.

About Me
1. Time Zone/Availability: I’m in MST and most often available during the day, but it depends. Game time must be scheduled, discord is much more flexible.
2. RP Experience Level: I've been RP'ing in general for 20 years, in FFXIV for a year or so.
3. Preferred RP Style:
• Length: Short for conversations but usually para, multi-para
• Format: In-game, Discord, or a mix, prefer discord.
4. Pace Preferences: Any, communication is keyRP Preferences
1. Themes I enjoy: Adventure, puzzles, and lore-heavy plots. Romance is fine as a subplot but not my main focus. Romance must be discussed somewhat.
2. Open to Random Encounters!
3. Lore Flexibility: I prefer things to be reasonably lore-abiding, but I'm flexible.About My Character
1. What to Expect from Aylin:
• She’s friendly, funny, analytical, and overly generous but socially awkward.”
• A note about her role in RP: She’s more of a strategist than a combatant but excels in planning and support. That said she can sling some scholar spells and offer minor healing.
2. What She's Looking For:
• Friends, allies, colleagues, found family. Specificly, Aylin is looking for adventurers to help investigate voidsent activity tied to Mhach and Nym.Boundaries
1. Consent is Key: major events (injury, romance, etc.) need to be discussed OOC first.
2. Conflict RP; I’m fine with arguments or debates, even villains, but anything serious should be discussed first.
3. No extreme violence, rape, incest or other heavy sexual themesStill have questions? Just ask!
